RSNO 2026/27 will present "Shostakovich Seven" at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on October 31, 2026. Philippe Quint will perform Lera Auerbach's Violin Concerto No. 1, followed by Symphony No. 7 "Leningrad," a powerful work that premiered amid the chaos of World War II. This symphony recounts the harrowing experiences of Leningrad under siege, serving as a testament to Shostakovich’s resilience and the enduring power of music. Brace yourself for wartime drama on a heroic scale as Bassem Akiki conducts the mighty RSNO in this sonic blockbuster: the climax of a concert that begins with Copland’s showstopping fanfare and stars a real RSNO favourite, violinist Philippe Quint, in a violin concerto with a dazzling difference. For any additional concerts during 2026:27, whether bought in a separate transaction or along with a season subscription, the standard £1.50 restoration fund per ticket will apply.
