A six-week poetry course organised by City of Poets will take place at Kinning Park Complex in Glasgow starting on 18 October 2026. Individual tickets cost £180 or £150 with a membership.
This popular set of workshops from Glasgow's City of Poets is back for another term. Suitable for budding and closet poets alike. MAKING PIES - 6 workshops for the closet poet The work is in part focused on techniques, from rhythm and rhyming, to alliteration and dissonance. At the same time, it is just as much about building confidence and the cohesion of the: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Spiritual,...hence the PIES. Participants need only bring themselves, but if you have work, whether complete or in progress, please have it with you. City of Poets promotes everyone as a poet, and considers poetry, like music, to be a unique individual expression, with healing power for individuals and beyond. For the duration of the course you will have the support of professional, award winning poet Spencer Mason both in session and via email. There is also the opportunity to graduate onto the second PIES course which entitles you to publish your work within our TEXTures series. Head to our website and socials and get to know City of Poets better and feel free to email us for a chat at glasgowcityofpoets@gmail.com This is not your average writing class and it is so much more than learning the technicalities of poetry. You will have the opportunity for one to one support, and we provide good snacks too. You can pay for this course using PayPal's pay in 3 option.
