A brilliant insight into a world we only think we know, Underwater uses sound recordings from coral reefs, schools of fish, whales and other sea-life to compose a teeming soundscape very different from the quiet we associate with being underwater. This is a frantically busy ecosystem in which fish chatter to one another and coral murmurs to itself as it grows. Plunge into Ian Gallagher’s 3D visualisation of the marine kingdom, be lulled by An-Ting’s accompanying poetry, and swim alongside the extraordinary creatures living beneath the waves. Underwater created and performed by An-Ting & Ian Gallagher Creative Producer: Laura Ducceschi Associate Producer: Yingnan Chu Advisor: Kirk Woodford Supported by Immersive Arts, Norwich University of the Arts and Oxford Contemporary Music. Spatial Audio supported by Aaron Holloway-Nahum, Southby Productions, and Immersive Visualisation and Simulation Lab PanOrama - Dali de Saint Paul, Lia Mazzari & Kathy Hinde Pioneering women were at the forefront of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop when it was established in 1958, principal among them its co-founder, the electronic composer Daphne Oram. To mark the centenary of her birth, three winners of the Oram Awards (set up in 2017 to honour innovators in music and technology) join forces for a new work bridging past and present. In PanOrama, Dali de Saint Paul, Lia Mazzari and Kathy Hinde use Oram’s writings and compositional processes to unite sound manipulation, improvisation and live instrumentation in a celebration of her life and legacy. Dali de Saint Paul - vocals and effects Lia Mazzari - cello Kathy Hinde - synthesis & electronics, projections Karen Sutton - Director, Oram Awards Anna Palmer - Creative Producer, Oram Awards Caleb Madden & Simon Wright - Directors, Outlands Network Supported by the Oram Awards, PRSF Beyond Borders and Outlands Network.
