Craft your own placemat using Jesmonite AC100 - an eco-friendly, solvent-free & water-based alternative to resin, used for casting various homewares and decorative objects. In this 2.5 hour workshop I’ll introduce you to Jesmonite AC100 and it’s various uses, and show you how to use it to create your own placemat to take home and use on your dining table! For this workshop I will be teaching you the technique of splattering to produce a set of placemat with Jackson Pollock inspired splatter patterns. During this workshop I will show you: • How to mix and pigment Jesmonite AC100 with your own choice of colours • How to pour and cast Jesmonite AC100 using silicone moulds • How to make a placemat with a splatter pattern • How to safely demould your creations • Tips for how to finish your pieces to give a more professional look •How to seal your pieces to protect them against general wear and tear
