Formed in 2001, Textures are widely regarded as architects of the modern progressive metal and djent movements. After a six-year hiatus that began in 2018, the band officially reunited in late 2025. They released their sixth studio album, Genotype, in January 2026 via Kscope. The record serves as the long-awaited conceptual companion to 2016's Phenotype, blending their signature polyrhythmic technicality with cinematic soundscapes and introspective lyrical themes.
