VALTOS is a Scottish electronic-trad duo composed of Skye natives Martyn MacDonald and Daniel Docherty. Formed in 2021, the pair has quickly become a driving force in the "electro-trad" scene, famously flipping the script by taking electronic house beats and infusing them with traditional Gaelic and folk elements. Their sound is heavily influenced by the landscapes of the Isle of Skye and the work of pioneers like Martyn Bennett. Following their award-winning debut, they released their second album, Valtos & Friends, in 2025, and their latest project, The Last Light, in early 2026. On stage, the duo expands into a full live band featuring talented collaborators such as Lana Pheutan and Eilidh Cormack, delivering a powerful blend of Celtic culture and modern dance music.
