These sessions are for 8-12 years and for children only. Sunday 4th October - Wellie Walk & Fire Making Go for a wander through bogs and ditches before building and making a fire. Head off into the wilds with the ranger on a wellie walk, before building and lighting a fabulous fire in one of our wild places. Sunday 15th November - The Great Mushroom Whittle Come along with the ranger and be shown how to make a mushroom from a piece of Hazel wood and a small knife. All tools and instruction will be given and you can take your mushroom home afterwards. Sunday 29th November - Fire, Marshmallows and Stories What's not to like? Come along with the ranger and gather wood, build a fire, melt and eat marshmallows and hear a story or two round the fire. Sunday 20th December - Make a walking stick Using a rod of hazel wood the ranger will help you make your very own walking stick to take home. All tools, instruction and resources to decorate will be provided. Wednesday 30th December - Pencil holder making Using wood found in our forests to make a pencil holder. Explore the woods to find suitable wood and under instruction from the ranger make and decorate your own unique pencil holder to take home. All tools and resources will be provided along with full instruction. Thursday 31st December - Shelter building! Build your own weather resistant shelter in our woods. Come along to the woods, search for suitable wood and build your own weather proof shelter. The ranger will show you how to do this and what to use. How weather proof will you make it?
