About This Event

The Women's Rights & History Workshop: Fashion & Beauty runs on 9 September 2026 at Kairos Women+. The session explores women+ history not typically taught in school. Tickets range from free to £11.55.

Exploring women+ history you weren’t taught in school

Come along and find out more about the history of women+ who have been punished harshly by society for minor crimes or for crimes that were entirely fictional. Our Fierce Women+ Rule Breakers session explores through discussion and interactive activities the women+ sentenced to prison and those accused of witchcraft.

Booking: This event is free, designed for women+ (inclusive of trans women and non-binary folk). Book your ticket on Eventbrite, or alternatively, you can email info@kairoswomen.org or call on 0141 3785078 to find out more or book a Welcome Meeting with a member of the team.

Food & drinks: we have snacks & hot drinks available for free, and there’s a free food pantry in the corridor & there is always sandwich ingredients in the kitchen so just ask.

Pantry & Free Shop: In our corridor, grab something from the free shop – clothes, toiletries, household items. Or why not see what you can find in the pantry? Lots of items to fill your cupboards.

Children: This workshop is not suitable for children who are walking and talking due to the themes. Babies are welcomed.

Transport: We are a 12 minute walk from Paisley Gilmour Station and the main bus routes. There is a large car park in front of the building. We will need your registration number on arrival when you sign in for free parking.

Note on the space: we are based in the Embroidery Mill, directly across from Morrisons car park. We’re the mill building without the tall tower nearby. Find out more on our Contact page.

Accessibility information: our space is on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible with an accessible bathroom. BSL interpretation will be provided and we have a hearing loop available to use. Go to our Accessibility & Inclusion page for more information.

Sensory information: Kairos is a very colourful space that can be noisy during busy groups. We use lamps in our spaces to reduce sensory overwhelm and fidget toys are available. Speak to someone before coming along so we can advise you of quieter spaces. We can adapt to make the space more comfortable and accessible for you!
