Friday 9th October 1pm – 4.30pm
Join the High Sheriff, in conjunction with Farms for City Children at Wick Court for a walk on the surrounding farmland. The walk will be followed by tea and cake and discussions; talking about children’s engagement with food and farming and environment.
Programme –1.00pm guided walk starting from Wick Court. 3.00pm onwards– tea and cakes.
3.30pm – 4.30pm - discussions
You can attend either, or both, of these free events. Please just book on with Eventbrite, so that we know the numbers.
Parking Location - For both the walk and the talks
Farms for City Children. Wick Court, Overton Lane, Arlingham, Gloucester GL2 7JJ What3 words ///sanded.ourselves.golf.
Drive down the gravel track and park in the car park on the left, just before the roped off, very old oak tree.
THE WALKStart time: 1pm. Meet by the roped off old oak tree; before the gate into the farm. The walk is roughly 2 – 3 miles on farmland paths, generally level but could be uneven in places.
Unfortunately, because this is farmland, the route is not suitable for those who have accessibility needs. The walk is a loop and finishes back at Wick Court at about 3.00pm. The pace is gentle and we will stop several times to discuss the work of Farms for City Children and to also talk about the history of the area.
THE TALKAt Wick Court – exact location TBC, depending on numbers and weather – either in the Round House or in the larger barn.
Refreshments from 3pm. Talk start time: 3.30pm

Safety InformationPlease wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. Bring poles if needed. There will be a tail walker and First Aid Cover. Dogs not permitted, except Assistance Dogs.
Facilities: There are 2 toilets at Wick Court but they do have steps, so may be difficult for anyone with severe mobility issues.
Walks will proceed in light rain but may be cancelled in severe conditions—please check the website for updates.
