Fun and engaging engineering activities for families funded by the Gloucestershire County Council

Date: Saturday 7th November 2026

Location: Friendship Cafe, Chequers Bridge Centre, Painswick Road, Gloucester, GL4 6PR

Join us in a fun, inclusive environment where you can design, build, and create at your own pace.

No experience needed — just curiosity and creativity!

11am - 12.30pm : Indoor Rockets

Design and build a car using a variety of materials, which you will launch to see how far and fast it travels.

12.30am - 2pm : Parachutes

The Bloodhound Car uses a parachute as one of its mechanisms to slow down safely. You will explore the science of air resistance through making and testing different types of parachutes and see the factors that affect drag.

For families with children aged 5-16 years. Children under 5 years are welcome as part of a family group.

£2.50 per child, per session. Accompanying adults attend for free. Please contact us if cost is a barrier to attending.
