A relaxed, self-led pottery painting experience in Great Bookham!

Looking for pottery painting in Surrey? Come and spend 1.5 hours painting your own piece in The Drawing Room – a spacious, light-filled greenhouse studio surrounded by beautiful plants at The Vineries Garden Centre.

Our pottery painting sessions are self-led, so there’s no formal workshop or set project to follow. Simply book your studio slot, arrive, choose your pottery from our shelves and paint it at your own pace.

Whether you’re visiting with the family, meeting friends, enjoying a creative date, or simply fancy some peaceful time to yourself, our studio is designed to be a calm and welcoming place to slow down and get creative.

How Pottery Painting Works

1. Book your studio session

Book a 1.5-hour pottery painting session from Wednesday to Saturday, between 10am and 3pm.

There is a studio fee per person, paid when you book your session.

2. Come and choose your pottery

When you arrive, take a look through our pottery shelves and choose the piece you’d like to paint.

We have a changing selection of pottery to choose from, with prices starting from: £12, £18, £22, £30 & £45

Pottery is selected and purchased separately on the day, and pieces are subject to availability.

3. Paint your piece

Choose your colours and get creative!

Your studio fee covers the use of our creative space, painting materials, glazes and firing. Everything is set up for you, so you can settle in and enjoy your session without needing to bring anything with you.

Our sessions are self-led, meaning you are free to paint your piece in your own style and at your own pace. Friendly help and guidance is available if you need it.

4. Leave it with us

Once you’ve finished painting, simply leave your pottery with our team.

We’ll carefully glaze and kiln-fire your piece to give it a beautiful, durable finish.

5. Collect your finished pottery

Your finished pottery will be ready for collection from approximately 2–3 weeks after your session.

We’ll confirm the collection timeframe when you visit.

Please note: The studio fee does not include the pottery itself. You choose and purchase your pottery separately when you arrive.
