About This Event

The workshop 'Care After Death - How do Funeral Directors Support Families?' is set for 19 January 2027 at 10:00 at Full Circle Funerals in Harrogate. It explores the role of funeral directors in supporting families before, during and after a funeral and is free to attend.

A workshop that looks behind the scenes at what funeral directors do for the families they look after before, during and after a funeral.

What really happens behind the scenes when someone dies? What role does a funeral director play in supporting families during one of the most difficult times in their lives?

This in person session offers an informative and compassionate look at the care and support funeral directors provide to the families they look after – before, during and after a funeral. It will explore the practical steps that take place when someone dies, as well as the values and ethos that guide how funeral professionals care for both the person who has died and the people who love them.

The session is designed to demystify the process, answer common questions, and provide a better understanding of the important role funeral directors play in supporting families through grief.

During the workshop we will cover:

What happens when someone dies and the first steps families need to take

How funeral directors bring someone into their care

What happens behind the scenes in preparation for a funeral

The different ways a funeral can be arranged and personalised

How funeral directors support families before, during and after the funeral
