An afternoon workshop of talks and demonstrations, exploring artificial intelligence and its relationship with local creative practice.

Free - Open to all (limited tickets available)

OBX / As part of Stories of Us, Tools - Rights - Choices is an afternoon workshop of talks and demonstrations, exploring artificial intelligence and its relationship with local creative practice, followed by an evening of presentations, discussion and shared perspectives. see

The afternoon is designed specifically for the local creative community. It will be practical, informative and open, providing space to explore AI without advocating either for or against its use.

Artists are increasingly encountering AI in their professional and creative lives. For some, it presents opportunities to explore new approaches, develop efficient workflows and reduce administrative pressures.

For others, it raises significant concerns around copyright, creative ownership, livelihoods, privacy, environmental impact and the future of artistic practice. Rather than simply asking how artists can use AI responsibly, the workshop proposes a broader question:

How can artists retain agency over what becomes automated, what remains human, what they choose to protect, and how AI fits with their own creative, ethical and economic values?

Thought leaders Simon Wilkinson & Myra Appanah of BRiGHTBLACK will present the session of presentations, discussions and demonstrations.
