Yvonne Chapman explores the pressures leading to the demolition of Allensmore Court in 1958 and tracks down a number of items that were auctioned off in the contents and demolition. Local recollections were of ‘high prices for lots of rubbish’, but, as they say, one person’s rubbish is another’s treasure, and we will see how some of the contents ended up as museum pieces!
