Race Distance: 43 miles from Wendover to Little Venice, London

Season Opener: Kicks off the ultra running season, attracting runners worldwide

Part of a Series: The first in the Grand Slam of four ultra marathons totaling over 180 miles

Scenic Route: Begins in Buckinghamshire countryside, transitions to Grand Union Canal towpath, ending in central London

Start Time: Registration opens at 7:00 AM; race begins at 8:45 AM

Price: £78, includes a GPS tracker

Age Limit: Participants must be over 18

Course Description

Start & Finish: Shoulder of Mutton Pub in Wendover to the Stowe Centre, London, W2 near Little Venice Canal Basin

Terrain:

11 miles cross-country trails (26%)

12.1 miles roads and paths (28%)

20 miles canal towpath (46%)

Elevation: +1375 ft / -1720 ft

Navigation & Tracking

Course Marking: Waymarked route, with navigation required

GPS Tracker: Real-time tracking via Geo Tracks app, updating every 10 seconds

Tracking App: Available for friends/family to follow your progress

Checkpoints: 5 checkpoints with water, snacks, and Go Beyond's renowned fruit cake

Finish Line: Hot drinks available for all finishers

Baggage Transfer: Single carry-on-sized bag transported to the finish line

Mandatory Gear: Includes fully charged phone, power bank, water bottles, survival blanket, waterproof jacket, whistle, torch, hat/gloves, long-sleeved base layer

Shoes: Trail shoes are advised; road shoes are recommended for the canal section if carrying
