The Task:

Today we will be clearing vegetation and creating a D-shaped scallop to create a warm and shaded habitat for wildlife including butterflies. No experience necessary, come and join us for an hour all the whole session.

Timings (please note these timings are approximate):

10.00: Arrival on site. Task and safety briefing

10.15: Work begins

11.30: Tea & coffee break

13.00: Lunch - please bring your own

15.30: Work finishes, time to go home! Thanks for your support.

What to bring:

Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.

Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.

Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. Or a hat and sun cream if it's sunny.

Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.

Please note:

Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.

Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
