The GM Ringway Fundraiser Stage Eleven is a community walk from Littleborough to Norden. The event takes place on 16 August 2026 at the Littleborough Railway Carpark in Huddersfield. It is free to attend and is held in response to events at RSPB Dove Stone Reserve.
In response to the heart-breaking events at RSPB Dove Stone Reserve, we're walking all 20 stages of the GM Ringway through August.
Moorland fires have devastated the RSPB Dove Stone reserve near Oldham, destroying vast areas of habitat and killing thousands of birds and animals. To raise money for restoration work, the RSPB Manchester local group is walking all 20 stages of the 200-mile Manchester Ringway path through August.
Setting off at 1.20pm from Littleborough Railway station and walking the 12.4 miles toHutchinson Road Bus Stop in Norden, arriving around 8.30pm. Route overview here - Stage 11 Littleborough to Norden - GM Ringway
The event is entirely run by volunteers of RSPB Greater Manchester local group. Anyone who would like to join us is welcome to walk the same route and take part as an individual. You will be responsible for your own safety and wellbeing on the walk. Please check the details of the route via the link above and ensure you are aware of the distance, the terrain and any possible risks. Please also check weather forecasts and ensure you have food, water and are dressed appropriately for conditions. Tickets are being offered purely so we are able to anticipate numbers.
