A family drop-in version of the 'Nature Arranged: Pressed Botanical Art Workshop' is set for 28 November 2026 at Denby Dale Community Library. Participants will create pressed-flower art using locally foraged materials in this free workshop, part of the Seasons of Nature Programme.
Craft locally foraged pressed-flower art to take home in this free family drop-in workshop.
Join local artist Helen Brook for a calm seasonal workshop this autumn, crafting your own artwork to take home from pressed flowers, leaves & seeds. Take a little time to slow down and reconnect with nature. Everyone is welcome & no art experience is needed.
The Nature Arranged series of sessions are free to attend, fully funded as part of the Kirklees Seasons of Nature programme.
What to expect
Drop-in to this free family workshop to enjoy some crafting with locally foraged pressed plants and flowers, making either an A5 artwork or a card to take home.
You will learn about methods of making artwork sustainably, using compostable glues and handmade seed paper.
No prior experience is required.
Pressed flowers can be delicate & fiddly, so this workshop is suitable for those ages 5+. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Where to find us
This workshop will take place in Denby Dale Library. Once arriving at the venue, staff will direct you to where the workshop will take place.
Do I need to book?
No, you do not need to book a ticket to attend this workshop. This is a drop-in activity, so please come along between 10am-12:30pm to take part.
Please note: this activity will be facilitated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Whilst the listing may appear to suggest you can 'reserve' a spot, unfortunately I can't ensure there will be a spot available when you arrive, even if you have booked. Although I will of course do my best to facilitate everyone having the opportunity to take part throughout the morning!
