About This Event

On 19 November 2026, Humber Street Gallery will host *OPEN House*, a two-part dawn-to-dusk workshop led by performer Sophie Mak-Schram that brings together various artists for an immersive theatrical experience. Admitting tickets are priced at £11.55 for this forthcoming event scheduled to run into the evening. The programme unfolds over twelve hours of continuous performance, transforming the gallery space into a living stage where the power of live theatre is tested against the passage of time. This exclusive workshop offers participants a rare opportunity to engage directly with the creative process within a sophisticated dramatic framework.

Two-part Dawn-to-Dusk Workshop with Sophie Mak-Schram

Please note this is a two-part workshop. By purchasing 1 ticket you will be booked on for both sessions.

First part: Thursday 19th November, 7–9.30pm.

Second part: Friday 20th November, 6.30–9.30am

Across this dawn-to-dusk workshop, artist Sophie Mak-Schram invites us to tune into how and where we feel we can belong, and our relationships with one another, through sound.

Beginning at dusk with a shared reading, we’ll explore ideas of resonance before heading out into the evening to listen closely, explore our surroundings and make recordings together.

As we move through different locations around Humber Street, we’ll consider: Where are we, and how are we here? What is the relationship between here and hearing? What do we long for from each other, and what do we long to hear?

Through field recording, each participant will create a short audio work in response to these questions and their encounters with the locality.

At dawn, we’ll reconvene to share and live-mix our recordings into a collective broadcast, bringing together the sounds, experiences and resonances gathered through the night.

No previous experience in sound recording is necessary. All equipment is provided.
