The aim of this course is to provide gas operatives with their initial Gas Appliances certificates making them eligible for Gas Safe registration.
Client Group
Candidates must be valid ACS/CORGI (CCN1) card holders, be approved for one or more of the specialist subjects listed below and must produce an original copy of their ACS certificate.
Award
On successful completion of the assessments, candidates will renew the following certificates as appropriate:
CENWAT: Domestic gas water and heater appliances and Domestic gas fired central heating boilers
CKR1: Domestic gas cooking appliances
HTR1: Domestic gas fires and wall heaters
DAH1: Domestic gas fired ducted air heaters
Course Content
The course is in two sections. The training section will prepare individuals to confidently complete the appliances assessments. The assessment section involves the candidate undertaking a series of practical checks to a standard that confirms competence in carrying out work safely.
Please note that the training section of this course is not compulsory. You could choose to attend for assessment only. In practice only an extremely small number of candidates take this route and we do recommend you attend training immediately in advance of your assessment.
Important information
To ensure Bpec Certification complies with its Awarding Body Agreement with Gas Safe Register, centres must verify the likeness of candidates who are undertaking assessments. This means that ALL candidates must have their likeness checked and recorded by one of the following means:
* A current valid passport
* A current valid driving licence (photo ID type)
* A photo ID card issued by the UK Border Agency
* Photo ID issued by any other Government agency
You also need to bring the following:
* Current CCN1 certificate or
* If you have an SVQ level 3 Plumbing certificate, you will need to complete the CCN1 course prior to completing the ACS course.
PLEASE BRING YOUR CURRENT CCN1 CERTIFICATE AND 2 PASSPORT PHOTOS
WITHOUT THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTATION, YOUR PLACE ON THE COURSE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
