About This Event

On September 28, 2026, at Inverness College UHI in Inverness, a BPEC Heat Pumps workshop will offer attendees hands-on experience with installing and maintaining air and ground source heat pumps. The event aims to provide expertise within the community category for £750.00.

Gain experience in installing and maintaining air and ground source heat pumps.

The aim of this course is to provide experienced plumbing and heating engineers with the practical and theoretical knowledge required to effectively install and maintain air and ground source heat pumps and to assist in MCS accreditation.

Background

The demand for trained micro renewable energy equipment installers is growing. This growth in the market is being encouraged through initiatives such as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). The RHI will pay a pre-determined price for every kWh heat generated by ground or water source heat pumps. Air source heat pumps are expected to be included in the RHI scheme at a later date. Smaller heat pump systems will have to be fitted by MCS accredited installers to be eligible for these funds. Heat pumps are widely used in Scandinavia and other European countries and can offer a reliable and effective heating solution in many applications.
