Finding Your Fool: A Journey in Play is a theatre event held at The Bike Shed in Inverness. Dramatherapist Kate Stevens leads a session exploring creativity as a tool for transformation. Tickets cost between £27.80 and £38.62.
Embrace the inner fool! Join dramatherapist Kate Stevens to explore how sparking creativity can be a powerful tool for transformation.
The fool doesn’t fear getting things wrong; they’re curious, maybe even enjoy it. Join dramatherapist Kate Stevens for "The Inner Fool," an exploratory workshop where we bring the inner fool into consciousness. By embracing play through the art of clowning and reflection, you will discover how creativity can serve as a powerful tool for safely containing anxieties, challenging personal narratives, and courageously transforming them.
This workshop is an invitation to look at your frame of reference through a different lense, using the distance of playing the character of the Fool to explore and remain curious. It is an experimental playground for anyone curious about using the arts to expand self-expression and gain a deeper understanding of their mental health.
Whether you're a performer, writer, artist, or just curious, no professional experience is required—this is about process and play, not perfection.
Together, we will:
Explore: Use playful warm-ups and dramatherapy frameworks to gently uncover and welcome your inner fool into the play space.
Experiment: Play with telling your fool’s tale through ritual, projection, and embodiment, dipping a toe into a variety of clowning techniques to find your fool’s unique, authentic creative voice.
Connect: Find connection with yourself and others, discovering the power of witnessing and being witnessed, which transforms the way we relate to our personal and collective narratives.
Important note: While held by a dramatherapist, this is not a therapy session. There is zero pressure to share anything you aren't comfortable with.
Hear from past participants:
“I feel free and connected. I’m no longer carrying this burden around with me. I have learned to challenge my thoughts and enjoy being me.”
“I’ve struggled with a bit of social anxiety in the past but feel like I’m doing so well - these kind of things really help! My favourite things are the lemon activities.”
