Join us at DanceEast for an informal sharing from Pushing Boundaries: GILA Method – Experienced Movers Edition. Free — registration required
The sharing will offer a glimpse into the creative journey of 25 experienced movers aged 50+, as they explore what the mature body can reveal when it is placed at the heart of artistic enquiry. Following a four-day intensive at DanceEast with internationally renowned choreographer and teacher Galit Liss, the dancers will share some of their discoveries through the GILA Method — Galit’s distinctive movement practice, developed over 17 years of research into the unique physiological aesthetics of the mature body.
Moving between individual and collective exploration, the group has been investigating presence, space, sensation and the possibilities of performance. The sharing will be followed by a conversation with Galit who will share her thinking and research behind the GILA Methodology, opening up a wider discussion around ageing, creativity and how we see, value and experience the older body on stage.
