A free 8-week scriptwriting course exploring the skills to develop your ideas, find your voice and create a short script.
Are you curious about writing a script for theatre, TV, radio or film, but don’t know where to start? Or maybe you have written a bit and need more guidance?
During this free eight-week course, led by award-winning scriptwriter Hugh Dichmont, learners will explore the foundations of writing scripts, whilst developing their creative voice.
Each week will focus on a different aspect of scriptwriting, including dialogue, theme, setting, structure, action, planning and the redrafting process, alongside a range of other topics including how to get inspired.
Sessions will be delivered through discussion, reading scripts and creative writing exercises, in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
By week eight, you will aim to have written a short script you can be proud of, which will be performed script-in-hand by actors as part of an end-of-course celebration sharing for those who would like to take part.
All levels of experience are welcome.
Workshop space fully accessible.
