This workshop introduces owners of small businesses and managers to the basic skills needed to effectively manage and gain the best from their employees including individual performance, communication and delegation.
The workshop provides an understanding of how individual employee needs relate to the business. It provides tools to help manage individuals and encourages a more proactive and innovative approach to your role. The day will support you, and in turn, your employees, in ensuring everyone is moving in the right direction towards achieving the goals, objectives and ultimately the overall business vision.
Aims of the workshop
To look at a more strategic approach to management
Involving and sharing the strategic plan with employees
Helping employees understand where they fit into the plan
Recognising the differences and similarities between leadership and management
Recognising different styles of management
Identifying the ingredients that bring about high performance
To understand the importance of effective communication and the need for performance feedback
To explore the need for performance management
Managing challenging attitudes
Recognising the importance and benefits of delegating
Pre-course work
Completing a brief pre-course questionaire and arriving with an open mind, ready to learn.
Meet the Trainer
Kate Wilde is a business adviser and Managing Director of Engage with Business Ltd, specialising in leadership and management development for small business owners. She helps founders step into their role as leaders, building confidence, strengthening decision making and shaping practical systems that make businesses run more smoothly. Kate’s approach is direct, supportive and grounded in real world experience, giving clients the tools they need to lead with clarity and purpose.
Eligibility:
These small group workshops are funded by Norfolk County Council, Suffolk County Council, and The Department of Business and Trade and are open to any trading business, freelancer, or charity based in Norfolk or Suffolk, UK.
