Intro to Lino Printing with Kirstie Williams
Get into the festive spirit with a day of lino printing! On this fun creative workshop, local Textile Artist and Printmaker Kirstie Williams will introduce you to the satisfying art of lino cutting and hand-printing. You’ll learn how to design, carve and print your own festive images, with plenty of guidance and encouragement along the way.
You’ll create a collection of beautifully handmade Christmas cards and gift tags, experimenting with different papers, inks and printing techniques to give your designs a personal touch. Whether you’re new to lino printing or simply fancy making something special for your friends and family, you’ll leave with a stash of unique, handprinted creations.
We recommend bringing an apron along with you, all other equipment and materials will be provided for the workshop.
The session will be guided step by step through the techniques and you will come away with lots of ideas for future projects.
This workshop is ideal for complete beginners in lino printing. All abilities welcome.
All equipment and materials needed during the workshop will be provided.
You are welcome to bring along a packed lunch or eat out locally in Meanwood.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
A bit about the tutor
Kirstie Williams is a Textile Artist and Printmaker based in Leeds and Wakefield. Her practice focuses on a range of printmaking and dyeing techniques and she explores Slow Design philosophies through making - emphasizing slowness in the creation and consumption of products to instil quality and foster traditional crafts.
Kirstie has over 12 years of teaching experience, having worked in formal education as well as many community-based settings.

Stitch-Up CIC is a social enterprise supporting people of all ages to learn new skills, improve wellbeing and connect with others through craft & creativity.
Our studio is based at Meanwood Community Centre, Stainbeck Avenue, LS7 2QU.
There is ample parking at the Community Centre Car Park. If you cannot fit in the Car Park, please park on Stainbeck Avenue and with consideration to the residents please do not park in the cul-de-sac.
The Stitch-Up Studio is to the rear of the Community Centre. Once you arrive in reception please follow the signs for Stitch-Up or ring our door bell if the main entrance door is locked and we will come and let you in.
