Join the Horizons Institute for the launch of our headline theme for 2026/27 'Signals: Detecting, Predicting and Responding to Uncertainty'

What signals do you see in your research? What changes do they indicate? How can you use these to reduce and respond to uncertainty in your work?

The Horizons Institute headline theme is a year of activity designed to bring together researchers from across all disciplines around the theme of Signals.

We invite you to drop in and join us for this official launch of the theme, where you will:

Find out more about upcoming opportunities, including development programmes and project funding

Learn more about our events and speaker activities held throughout the year

Listen to a panel of speakers discuss how they identify and work with signals in their research and explore commonalities that sit across disciplinary boundaries (1.30 – 2.30pm)

Have an opportunity to network with other interdisciplinary researchers from across the University of Leeds

Tea, coffee and cake will be available throughout the afternoon, and the Horizons team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have around our upcoming plans.
