Join local artist Gemma in making minibeasts out of willow!

As part of our Art in Nature project, this workshop, led by local artist Gemma, is focused on making minibeasts and other creations out of willow. Come along to learn willow weaving techniques and help us create some lovley creatures wich will be displayed at our open day on the 5 September 2026.

This session is free, just please makesure you book a ticket. All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

This project is part of the Seasons of Culture Programme funded by West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Leeds City Council through the Leeds Cultural Investment Programme.

Getting to site

Please be aware that there is currently a security cabin and gate about halfway along Skelton Grange Road. This is for the waste-to-energy site next door to the Environment Centre.

If you travel by car they will probably note the vehicle registration, ask for the driver’s name and where you are going (tell them TCV). It is simply to keep track of traffic entering and leaving. If you are walking down you can go straight past. Essentially, don’t be worried when you see it, you are going to the right place!

Q: Is there free parking available?

A: Yes, there is no charge for parking in our car park, and we have lots of space.

Q: Is the site wheelchair accessible?

A: The site is accessible to wheelchairs with a mix of mown grass and woodchip paths. However, if the weather has been very rainy there can be muddy sections that people who use wheelchairs might find difficult.

Q: Are dogs allowed?

A: We only allow assistance/guide dogs on TCV sites.
