A talk exploring colonialism and the role of the Church will be held at Leicester Cathedral on 8 October 2026. The event, titled Faith, History and Healing, is scheduled to start at 19:00 and is listed at no cost.
Exploring colonialism and the role of the Church
Join us for a thought-provoking evening exploring the connections between faith, empire and the experiences of African and Caribbean communities. Through expert discussion, participants will examine the role churches played in shaping history and how faith institutions today are engaging with questions of acknowledgment, reconciliation and reparative justice.
The discussion will be followed by a creative workshop where attendees will contribute to a live interactive installation that will become part of a future exhibition. Together, we will create a space for reflection, dialogue and learning, exploring how understanding our shared past can help shape a more inclusive future.
