Samhain: Candlelight at the CrossroadsWitchcraft, Self-Care & Shadow Work for the Dark Season
As the year turns towards winter and Samhain approaches, join Blood Moon Coven for an atmospheric evening of witchcraft, ritual, reflection and community, exploring ways to care for ourselves and work with the darker season ahead.
Candlelight at the Crossroads invites you to explore witchcraft through different traditions, practices and perspectives. Wander between practical workshops and interactive stations, hear members of the coven share aspects of their practice, join two longer talks, spend time in quiet reflection at our ancestors’ altar, and experience ritual in community.
Whether witchcraft is already part of your life or you’re simply curious, you’re welcome to explore at your own pace.
Witchcraft in Practice
Throughout the main gathering space, members of Blood Moon Coven will share practical aspects of their own craft through interactive, mostly self-guided stations, with short demonstrations and opportunities to ask questions along the way.
Expect to explore areas including:
Moon Magic & Ritual Self-Care
Create your own ritual bath salts while exploring ways of bringing together intention, ingredients and the lunar cycle for practices centred around rest, release, renewal and self-care.
Hearth & Kitchen Witchcraft
Explore seasonal foods, herbs, scents and flavours, and discover simple ways of bringing nourishment, intention and everyday magic into the home through the darker months.
Divination & Shadow Work
Explore different approaches to divination and how practices such as Tarot can be used for reflection, self-inquiry and gently examining the parts of ourselves we don't always find comfortable to meet.
The stations are intended to offer ideas and inspiration rather than prescribe a single way of practising. Explore, experiment, ask questions and take away whatever resonates with you.
Talks & Shared Knowledge
Our dedicated talk space will host two longer sessions offering different perspectives on witchcraft, self-care and navigating the dark season.
Violett Storm, The Root of Blood Moon Coven, will explore witchcraft through a secular and psychological lens, looking at why ritual, symbolism, intention and other magical practices can have a very real impact on the way we think, feel and experience our lives.
Morgana Sophia, astrologer and friend of the coven, will explore the astrology of the season ahead and how it can offer insight, reflection and support as we move into the darker months.
Full talk details and timings will be announced closer to the event.
Ancestors & Remembrance
Samhain has long been associated with remembrance, ancestry and the thinning of the veil between the living and the dead.
Step through the veil into our dedicated ancestors’ space: a quieter, candlelit place to pause, remember and reflect away from the bustle of the main gathering.
Spend a few moments or stay a little longer. How you use the space is entirely your own.
Ritual & Community
During the evening, we’ll come together in circle and invite you to experience collective ritual with Blood Moon Coven.
If you’ve never participated in ritual before, everything will be explained. There is no expectation that you hold a particular belief, speak or participate beyond what feels comfortable to you.
For some, ritual is spiritual. For others it is magical, symbolic, psychological or simply a powerful way of marking a moment together. All of those perspectives are welcome.
Our Coven, Our Practice
Blood Moon Coven is a non-dogmatic community.
We don’t all practise witchcraft in the same way, and we don’t all share identical beliefs about magic, spirituality or the supernatural. Individually, we explore different traditions, tools and ways of understanding our craft. When we come together, we focus on what we share: curiosity, respect, connection, intentional practice and the turning of the seasons.
That same spirit runs through Candlelight at the Crossroads.
There is no single correct way to practise witchcraft.
Be curious. Ask questions. Learn from other people, but trust yourself enough to experiment and develop a practice that has meaning for you.
We hope you’ll leave with new ideas, practical tools and perhaps a different way of thinking about what witchcraft can bring to your everyday life.
Tickets
Candlelight at the Crossroads is limited to 40 guests.
Your ticket includes access to the talks, collective ritual, practical activities and materials included in the programme.
Full programme details and timings will be announced as we approach Samhain.
