Brian will be looking at the mythological figure of Áine, her possible roots in deep prehistory alongside her links to the ancient monuments and landscapes of Lough Gur and Knockainey. This is an exploration of a figure who has been present in East Limerick, and beyond, for millennia, leaving a rich legacy in stories, tales, placenames and traditions. Tales of Áine are known right across Ireland, but it is only around Knockainey and Lough Gur that these tales remained present in the community.
