Join us for our opening screening the Anfield People's Cinema Festival. Letter to Brezhnev is a scouse 80's classic you don't want to miss ! We're delighted to be opening the Anfield People's Cinema Festival with a screening of Liverpool 80's classic Letter to Brezhnev (1985) Written by Frank Clarke, Driected by Chris Bernard Letter to Brezhnev tells the story of two Liverpool women, Teresa and Elaine, played by Margi Clark and Alexandra Pigg who go on a night out in the city and meet two sailors from the USSR. What follows is a story of Liverpool’s club scene, dramatic flings and a Europe still in the grip of the Cold War. This screening marks the opening of The Anfield People's Cinema Festival which will take place over 24th-27th September in venues across the community. This festival is the result of over 20 local volunteers coming together to make something great happen in our local area. Our goal is to make bring people together to enjoy and celebrate the magic of films on a big screen. As with all our screenings there will be a free hot meal for all attendees provided upon arrival as well as a range of refreshements throughout the evening. This screening is free to attend but we do accept donations at the end of the evening. Any money raised helps us to continue putting on these cinema events in Anfield and covers costs such film liscences, food and marketting.
