Join Jo and Merseyside BioBank to help trap and record species of moth on Rimrose Valley.

Moths are incredible creatures and there are around 2,500 species in the UK alone! They belong to the insect order Lepidoptera, which translates from Greek as "scaly-winged" because tiny, colorful scales cover their bodies and wings.

Moth recordings on Rimrose Valley are poor, so by taking part in this activity, you'll be playing an important role in helping us document the species which call Rimrose 'home' so we can feed this data into our Local Environmental Record Centre, Merseyside BioBank.

We'll set up 2 moth traps - one on Queensway allotments to be left over night - and the other out on Rimrose Valley itself.

Important information:

This session is out in the elements, so please dress accordingly - check the weather forecast and temperature before attending

Guess what? This activity attracts moths! So, if you don't like the thought of them flying around you or bumping into you, it's probably not for you!

You'll need the following items: Head torch, camping chair, smart phone for photos (fully-charged!)... and snacks!

We will be following some of Rimrose's smaller, informal trails with uneven terrain. If you have any mobility issues, please contact us in advance.

We are limiting this event to just 4 places, so please ensure you register using this Eventbrite booking only. If you can't make it, please cancel so others can attend

Please ensure that you arrive on time.

As ever, we encourage everyone to come on foot or to use public transport wherever possible. If you have to come by car, there is limited parking at the meeting point, so please park responsibly
