“Any organisation would benefit from his thinking.”– Simon Sinek
On September 24, author, restaurateur and co-producer of Emmy award-winning series The Bear, Will Guidara, joins 5x15 for an exclusive London evening. He will be in conversation with advertising legend and behavioural scientist, Ogilvy's Rory Sutherland, live at Cadogan Hall.
As the former co-owner of New York's Eleven Madison Park, which went from a struggling restaurant to being voted the Best Restaurant in the World under his leadership, Will Guidara followed one core principle: give people more than they expect.
By turning ordinary human moments into something unforgettable, Guidara argues, you can build better relationships and stronger connections, and in turn allow customers to connect more closely with your product.
Guidara makes the case for Unreasonable Hospitality in his million-selling book of the same name, which was featured in the Emmy-award winning series The Bear, and whose many fans include Jimmy Fallon, Simon Sinek and Oprah.
Together, Will Guidara and Rory Sutherland will explore how memorable and over-the-top hospitality is the key to success, in business and in life.
Join us at Cadogan Hall for an inspiring conversation about leadership, self-optimisation and the importance of human connection.
5x15. Where great stories are told live.
Praise for UNREASONABLE HOSPITALITY:
"the ultimate masterclass in how to thoughtfully improve the lives of those around you... must-read, for anyone looking to stand out from the pack." – Dan Levy, Emmy-winning writer, actor, director, and producer of Schitt's Creek
"An exceptional book for anyone or any organisation aiming to excel at human connection."– Danny Meyer, CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and author of Setting the Table
"One of the five best management books I have ever read. Plus, it is the most engaging and entertaining – by a wide margin. Thi s is, flat out, not a book to miss." – Roger Martin, writer, strategy advisor and management thinker.
Will Guidara is the author of the New York Times bestseller Unreasonable Hospitality, which chronicles the lessons in service and leadership he has learned over the course of his career in restaurants. He is the former co-owner of Eleven Madison Park, which under his leadership was named the Best Restaurant in the World. He is the host of the Welcome Conference, a co-producer of the Emmy Award-winning series The Bear, and a recipient of the Wall Street Journal Innovator Award.
Rory Sutherland has spent a lifetime spent working on the creative side of the advertising agency Ogilvy UK. This has provided him with the perfect environment for developing a fascination with the vagaries of human decision making – indeed he sees the world of advertising and marketing as a sort of Galapagos Island for behavioural science. An accidental TikTok star as well as a celebrated speaker and writer, Rory has found his blend of wit and behavioural insight resonates with audiences far beyond the boardroom. It’s this same passion that inspired him to found Ogilvy’s Behavioural Science Practice, a team of psychology graduates who look for unseen opportunities in consumer behaviour, and to write his Book Alchemy: the Surprising Power of Ideas that don’t quite make sense (2019). He has variously been President of the IPA, Chair of the Judges for the Direct Marketing Jury at Cannes and has spoken at TED Global. Rory has also co-written Transport for Humans (with Pete Dyson) and is the technology correspondent of the Spectator Magazine. His 12-week CPD accredited MAD//Masters course helps marketers make sense of accelerated disruption and use a tried and tested mix of creativity, innovation and behavioural science to their competitive advantage.
