Discover the history of the oldest hamlet in the Brixton area on this guided walk with Stockwell local Bill Linskey The oldest hamlet in the Brixton area once had two breweries, two places of worship, two schools, and three pubs; and what happened to the village green? Find out in this gentle, Sunday afternoon walk led by Stockwell resident Bill Linskey. Walk lasts about 90 minutes. Meet outside Costcutter, The Quadrant, Stockwell Green, SW9 9JF. If the walk has sold out please contact marketwalks@brixtonsociety.org.uk to go on a waiting list. Brixton Society is an amenity society and charity. We aim to keep our walks free or low cost sdo they are open to as many people as possible. If you are able, please make a donation when you book or at the end of the walk on the day. This will help us to continue our work understanding the past and shaping the furure. All contributions, however small, are very much appreciated.
