About This Event

A discussion titled 'Ageing: How does life experience influence us as we age?' will be held at The Partridge in Bromley on 3 November 2026. NOTE: the pub does not charge for our space on the understanding that we all purchase something from the bar. Please support them. I'll be there from around 7pm if anyone would like a social chat before we get started. **Please arrive in time for a prompt start at 7:30.** In this discussion we’ll explore the effects of life experience and maturing as adults on our development. They provide both examples and counter examples we may discuss, in addition to our experience of ourselves and our children. (If you haven’t followed the series, try watching the first 1964 programme, then write down your predictions before watching the 70up programmes, which provide summaries of the intervening years.) **Wisdom:** We’ll try to increase our understanding of what we mean by “wisdom” by considering questions like: * What things seem difficult to learn except by first-hand experience? * What forms of understan
