A celebration of the life and work of John Berger, on what would have been his 100th birthday, at Conway Hall.

John Berger (1926-2017) was one of the most influential writers and thinkers of our times. Storyteller, essayist, novelist, broadcaster, poet, artist, dramatist, filmmaker; in more than sixty books, Berger explored the nature of images, spoke out against the injustices of power, and advocated for the overlooked and marginalised.

His warmly inclusive humanity, his collaborative sense of a lineage with the past and the dead, and his embodied defence of the passions of the present spoke internationally and across borders.

Join us at Conway Hall, on what would have been his 100th birthday, as a constellation of artists, writers, thinkers, activists, family and friends pay tribute to John and the work that has moved them.

The evening, in two parts, will include live contributions plus film and audio clips, and readings on stage of Berger's work from actors Khalid Abdalla and Juliet Stevenson.
