Speaking in conversation with broadcaster Kavita Puri, historian Nandini Das will breathe new life into the history of England during the 16th and 17th centuries. About Nandini Das

Nandini Das is professor of Early Modern English Literature and Culture and Fellow of Exeter College at Oxford University. Her latest book, This Little World: A New History of Tudor and Stuart England, was published in May 2026. Her previous book, Courting India: England, Mughal India, and the Origins of Empire, was longlisted for the Cundill Prize,shortlisted for the Duff Cooper and Wolfson History Prizes, and won the British Academy Book Prize. It was also a Spectator, Prospect and History Today Book of the Year. A BBC New Generation Thinker, she regularly contributes to and presentstelevision and radio programmes, including ‘Tales of Tudor Travel’ on BBC Four.

Kavita Puri is a multi-award winning BBC journalist, executive producer and broadcaster. She is the author of the critically acclaimed "Partition Voices: Untold British Stories," which was adapted for the stage at the Donmar Warehouse in London, based on her BBC Radio 4 series. Her recent BBC podcast Three Million about the 1943 Bengal Famine won numerous prizes including Gold at the British Podcast Awards. It is the subject of her forthcoming book. She was last year's Chair of the Women's Prize for Non-Fiction.
