On 20th September Kidical Mass is bringing its epic bike party back to the streets of central London with a kids disco twist and a jungle theme. This is a fully marshalled family-friendly ride, with experienced IBikeLondon Cycle Marshals. IBikeLondon are proud to support the global movement Kidical Mass, as part of a collaboration between a host of fab organisations, including ZEN ; Kidical Mass London ; Clean Cities ​; Solve the School Run ; LCC Women’s Network ; Carry Me Bikes ; Camden Bike Bus ; Breathe London . Details of the ride The ride will be starting from Carter Lane Gardens, directly opposite St Paul’s Cathedral and at the top of Peter’s Hill where the London Cycling Festival City hub is. So don’t miss this great opportunity to enjoy all the hub has to offer. We will be meeting for the ride from 10:30, and setting off between 11:00/ 11:30. The ride will then travel at a relaxed pace , suitable for all ages and abilities, and finish at the Westminster hub in Church Street, where there are more games and activities to enjoy. To keep the atmosphere going, we are encouraging everyone to dress up and / or decorate their bikes – follow our jungle theme or do whatever takes your fancy. And IBike London will bring the music through our fleet of Disco Bikes, playing plenty of classic young people’s tunes. We expect to reach the Westminster hub at about 12.30pm, ready for lunch. Bring something with you to eat, or there are food stalls at both hubs. Toilets are available at both venues and surrounding cafes. Although the ride is fully marshalled, we encourage everyone to ride safely, legally, and look out for each other. You will be responsible for your own safety and we are not responsible for any injuries or accidents during the ride. Getting to the ride You can join one of the local feeder rides into town (we will be adding feeder rides to this page, or you can see if there is a feeder ride by searching for your borough here ). If you are travelling by public transport, on Sundays, cycles can be taken by rail (eg Blackfriars & Farringdon stations) and on a number of tube lines including the district and circle lines (eg Blackfriars station is step-free). If you are late arriving at the Strat, we will be running Glympse for this event & will post a link nearer the time. Preparing for your ride Please make sure your bike is in good condition and check your brakes and tyres. If you have a mechanical problem or a puncture during the ride give our marshals a shout and someone will help you. You can get a free bike check, cycling advice and minor repairs at both the start and end of the ride. If the ride has to be cancelled due to terrible weather we will update the event page 12 hours in advance.
