Late Lines in November 2026 will be hosted by William Brady and feature special guest, author Andrew Kenrick.
Please note: students interested in reading their work at Late Lines must register their interest in advance to be included in the line-up. Please see below for further details.
The event will include an interval, during which complimentary glasses of wine will be available for attendees.
Please be aware that the evening may include pieces which discuss adult themes and subjects.
Audience members and readers may be photographed for promotional purposes. By attending this event, you consent to have your image used for these purposes.
The event will take place in our ground floor Cultureplex space which is fully accessible. If you have any accessibility requirements or require space for a wheelchair, we would be grateful if you could contact us in advance at writing@citylit.ac.uk to let us know. If you are studying or have recently studied on a City Lit writing course and would like to share your work at Late Lines in June, we'd love to hear from you. Please contact writing@citylit.ac.uk by the end of the day on Tuesday 13th October with a copy of the piece/s you'd like to read on the night. Each reading slot is 3-5 minutes maximum.
All entries will be reviewed after the submission deadline for time considerations and to ensure a diversity of material on the night.
All genres, styles, forms and levels of experience are very welcome. We look forward to hearing from you!
Andrew Kenrick
Dr Andrew Kenrick teaches Creative Non-Fiction at the University of Cambridge and CityLit in London, and he is the founder of the non-fiction magazine Hinterland. His interdisciplinary studies have taken him from ancient history and archaeology to the movie Gladiator and Roman cooking, as well as researching new methods for writing ancient biography. His debut book is Rex Juba: 15 Glimpses of an African King, out now in hardback with Penguin/Torva.
