About Disney’s The Lion King

Disney’s The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre, London, is an internationally celebrated musical based on Disney’s film. Reimagined for the stage by Julie Taymor, it tells the story of Simba, following his journey from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands.

The production combines a staged adaptation of the film’s story with vivid colours, striking effects and music, bringing the world of the Pridelands to the theatre. It is a long-running Disney musical and remains one of the best-known stage versions of a film adaptation.

Performances take place Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with matinees on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2.30pm.

Running time: 2 hours 30 minutes, including one interval.

Before you book

Recommended for ages 6+. Children under 3, including babies in arms, will not be admitted. All guests aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own within the auditorium. Everyone entering the theatre, whatever their age, must have a ticket.

Strobe lighting is used several times during the performance. The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time, and guests should arrive early as latecomers may need to wait before being seated and could miss part of the performance. Guests must be seated no later than 5 minutes before the show starts.

If you have chosen box office collection, print the confirmation and bring it with you at least 30 minutes before the performance start time. If you have chosen e-tickets, they will be sent by email for you to print at home.
