FREE 6 mile guided walk tracing the line of the Hidden River, Earl's Sluice from Denmark Hill to its outflow into the Thames at Bermondsey

London has many rivers but they are often hidden under centuries of development. Rivers like the Earl's Sluice might be little known today but have left their mark on the city and still form an important part of our subterranean world today.

Join me as I, accompanied by David Fathers's excellent book London's Hidden Rivers, act as your guide tracing the line of the Earl's Sluice as it winds its way under our feet through south east London.

We'll meet outside Denmark Hill station at 11.30 am. The just over six mile journey takes us through south east London from Denmark Hill through Burgess Park, past the Thomas Becket pub to Greenland and South Docks on the River Thames. As always for those that want to we’ll have drink in a local pub before heading home.

We'll stop for lunch along the way - bring your own, buy something en route or find a coffee shop /pub when we stop - it's up to you.
