GLUG PRESENTS: FRIGHT NIGHT 👻
Creative horror stories. Nightmare clients. Terrifying briefs. Ideas that came back from the dead.
This October, Glug is getting spooky.
Welcome to FRIGHT NIGHT, a Halloween special dedicated to the scarier side of working in the creative industries.
Because behind every beautiful case study, shiny portfolio and suspiciously polished LinkedIn post is a story that didn’t quite go to plan.
The pitch you absolutely butchered.
The client feedback that still haunts you.
The project that went horribly, spectacularly wrong.
The deadline that nearly killed everyone involved.
The idea everyone hated… until suddenly they didn’t.
And the occasional creative miracle dragged back from the dead.
🎃 WHAT’S HAPPENING?
We’re inviting some brilliant people from across the creative industry to share the stories you don’t normally hear on stage.
Expect honest tales of mistakes, disasters, difficult decisions, unexpected comebacks and those moments where everything looked completely fucked… right before it somehow worked out.
Less polished success story. More creative confession booth.
And because it’s Halloween, expect Glug to be looking a little different too.
👻 Halloween shenanigans
🎤 Brilliant speakers
🍕 Free pizza slice
🍻 Free drinks
🧠 Pecha Glucha
🤝 Proper human connection
🎃 A few surprises we’re keeping buried for now
Fancy dress? Very much encouraged.
Why Attend?
Glug is the creative industry’s notworking event. We’ve been bringing designers, creatives, makers, founders, studios and generally interesting humans together since 2007. Yes, there are talks. Yes, you’ll probably learn something. But Glug has never really been about sitting quietly in rows while somebody clicks through 84 slides about their career.
It’s about meeting people, having conversations you wouldn’t have online and finding collaborators, clients, friends, jobs, ideas and occasionally someone you’ll end up drinking with until considerably later than planned. Networking shouldn’t feel like networking.
So grab a ticket, bring someone interesting and come spend Halloween with London’s creative community. Just don’t say we didn’t warn you. 👻

JKR (https://www.jkrglobal.com/)
If you remember only one thing about JKR, it’s Be Distinctive Everywhere.
Since 1990, they've helped brands be who they are, only more so. Because as it turns out: being yourself is a superpower.
From strategies that reclaim crowns, raise curtains, and innovate the internet; to iconic identities with more swagger, more flame grilled deliciousness, more going-and-getting; and experiences that are worth more, spark your imagination, and deliver a recipe for magic…
It’s all done with people who are supremely talented. But more importantly, done with people you want to hang with.
If that’s the kind of brand you want to own. Or the type of work you want to make. Whatever it is, they're your people.
Wildish&Co (https://www.wildishandco.co.uk/)
Wildish & Co is an independent creative studio based in Clerkenwell, London, helping ambitious brands find their voice and use it with bravery.
Founded in 2012, their nimble team of strategists, designers, developers, animators and producers believe the only thing riskier than disruption is imitation. So rather than playing it safe, they combine sharp strategy with bold creative to build brands that stand out for all the right reasons.
Collaborative by nature, Wildish & Co bring their clients into the creative trenches with them, becoming an extension of their teams and leaving no stone unturned in the process.
They work best with people doing good, dreaming big and ready to shake things up. Whatever the business, product or challenge, it starts with strategy and ends with something designed to raise your pulse.
Allies Studio (https://www.allies.studio/)
Coming all the way from Belfast, Allies is a creative studio. A very creative studio.
Their roots are in Ireland but have friends all over. And they’re united by fear. But it’s not risk they’re afraid of. It’s sameness. Because sameness is what’s actually dangerous.
Blending in is bad for business. Playing it safe stifles growth.
Following trends will get you forgotten.
Founded in 2025. Since then, they've hijacked London Fashion Week with COAT Paints, partnered with the world’s most awarded bar in NYC, Europe’s oldest cocktail bar in Paris, and the best drink in the world - Guinness. Alongside that, they work with a host of local brands, from coffee shops to fashion houses and pizza joints, doing exciting work closer to home.
