About This Event

A tour will take attendees from London to explore filming locations used for Harry Potter. The visit includes Christchurch College, which features architecture that inspired the Hogwarts Great Hall. This outing offers some interesting sights that appeal to all ages. Tickets start from £89.

Christchurch College

The grand staircase and dining hall that inspired the Hogwarts Great Hall. One of Oxford's oldest and most impressive colleges, with a history stretching back to the 16th century.

🎬 The staircase where McGonagall first greets the new students before the Sorting Ceremony. The dining hall that inspired the Hogwarts Great Hall — this is the original.

The Divinity School

The Bodleian Library's stunning vaulted Divinity School was used as Hogwarts' hospital wing, where Harry woke up more times than he'd probably like to remember.

🎬 The Hogwarts infirmary. Where Harry recovers after facing Quirrell, where Ron lies wrapped in bandages after the chess match, and where the Yule Ball dance rehearsal takes place in Goblet of Fire.

New College

The cloisters where Mad-Eye Moody turned Draco Malfoy into a ferret in Goblet of Fire. The ancient courtyard and grounds are just as atmospheric in person.

🎬 The courtyard where Draco gets bounced around as a ferret by Mad-Eye Moody. Also where students wear their "Potter Stinks" badges before the Triwizard Tournament.

The Bodleian Library

One of the oldest libraries in Europe, and the real-life Hogwarts Library. The Duke Humfrey's reading room is instantly recognisable to anyone who's seen the films.

🎬 The Hogwarts Library. Where Harry sneaks in under the invisibility cloak in Philosopher's Stone and where Hermione discovers the truth about the Basilisk in Chamber of Secrets.

Lacock Abbey

A 13th-century abbey used extensively throughout the films. Snape's classroom, Quirrell's classroom, the Mirror of Erised room and several Hogwarts corridors were all filmed within these walls.

🎬 Snape's potions classroom. Quirrell's Defence Against the Dark Arts room. The chamber where Harry discovers the Mirror of Erised. Professor Slughorn's office in Half-Blood Prince.

Lacock Village

A village that looks like it hasn't changed in centuries. Timber frames, stone cottages, and streets so photogenic they've appeared in period dramas and films for decades.

🎬 The street used as Budleigh Babberton in Half-Blood Prince, where Harry and Dumbledore visit Slughorn. Also doubles as the village of Godric's Hollow — Harry's birthplace.

Morning — Oxford

Oxford is one of the most beautiful cities in England, and it doubled as Hogwarts throughout the Harry Potter films. We spend the morning exploring the university's medieval colleges and their connections to the wizarding world. Christchurch College provided the staircase and inspiration for the Great Hall. The Bodleian Library's Divinity School became the Hogwarts infirmary. New College's cloisters are where Mad-Eye Moody turned Draco into a ferret. Your guide will point out the locations as you go, with behind-the-scenes stories from the productions. There's also free time to wander the city's streets, browse the bookshops and grab some lunch.

Afternoon — Lacock Abbey

This afternoon we travel through the English countryside to the village of Lacock, one of those places that looks like it hasn't changed in centuries. Lacock Abbey was used extensively throughout the films. Snape's classroom, Quirrell's classroom, the Mirror of Erised room and several Hogwarts corridors were all filmed here. The abbey itself dates back to the 13th century, and even without the Harry Potter connection it would be worth the visit. The village around it is equally photogenic, all timber frames and stone cottages.

5.30pm — Return to London

We make our way back to London, returning to Urban Baristas in South Kensington by approximately 5:30pm.
