👣 Hike Description
Join us for a spectacular circular hike through the heart of the South Downs National Park, taking in rolling chalk hills, panoramic ridge-top views, picturesque villages and some of Sussex's finest countryside.
Starting in the historic market town of Lewes, we'll climb onto the Downs and follow sweeping ridgelines with magnificent views across the Ouse Valley and surrounding countryside. One of the unique features of this walk is that much of the route can be seen from the surrounding hills, allowing us to look back on where we've been and ahead to the trails still to come.
Our route passes through the charming villages of Southease and Glynde, both nestled beneath the South Downs and rich in rural character. Along the way we'll enjoy open grassland, ancient tracks, peaceful farmland and some of the most scenic sections of the South Downs. There is also an optional detour to Mount Caburn, an Iron Age hillfort offering breathtaking views across the entire landscape.
