About the magazine
lowercase-a is a new magazine, co-edited by Qing Tang and Joseph Williamson.
lowercase-a is loosely about architecture and writing about architecture. The ‘lowercase’ in our name references a direct opposite; the Capital-A (Capital-A Art, Capital-A Architecture…). It is not a rejection or an attack on how these supposed more ‘proper’ things hold more seriousness or are attached to a legitimising force. We propose that both proper and improper can coexist, and lovingly so.
Exhibitors/Contributors
Macarena Gonzalez — Living in a Glass Case
Juliana Lacerda Walsh — undoing/situating/redrawing domesticity
Jazmine Simmons — The Chelsea
Joseph Williamson — Where Haloes Could Begin to Grow
Audrey Zhang — Edmund Dulac’s 'Orient'
Caiyun Chen —The Sea, The Sea
Harang Seo — Blue Underbellies of Airborne Whales
Venue
The Lion & Unicorn is a short walk from Kentish Town tube station and Kentish Town West overground station, and is also well connected by bus.
Our event will happen in the outdoors section of the pub. Further information about the event will be disseminated via email nearer to the day of the event.
