Test out our new eco-tour through the North London wildlife corridor through Woodbury Wetlands, Edible Landscapes London and Parkland Walk.
Join us for a walking tour through North London wildlife corridor with other eco-conscious travellers, take part in environmental action and experience a part of London most tourists don't get to see!
We'll spend just over three hours and cover around four miles, moving between three extraordinary green spaces: Woodberry Wetlands, Edible Landscapes London in Finsbury Park, and the Parkland Walk nature reserve. We'll start with a guided tour from a London Wildlife Trust ranger at the wetlands, conduct a pollinator survey at Edible Landscapes London in their community permaculture garden, and take in the woodland of the Parkland Walk, picking up any plastic pollution we see along the way. We'll finish at The Boogaloo in Highgate for a drink and a debrief.
This is a small group tour of just ten people so we can join the partner organisations' existing activities for you to see them in action, and intimate enough that you'll get to know the people you're walking with. These events are designed for eco-conscious travellers who want to meet like-minded people while they're away, learn from community environmental initiatives they wouldn't otherwise encounter, and give something back to the places they visit. The knowledge you pick up from a permaculture forest garden in Finsbury Park or a wetland saved from developers by local campaigners can all be put into action at home.
Tickets start at £4.50, which covers a donation to the three organisations hosting the morning (Woodberry Wetlands, Edible Landscapes London, and the Friends of Parkland Walk). If you'd like to contribute more, you can add an optional donation at checkout or pay for a full price ticket. Anything above the £4.50 goes to Earth Stewards Travel Club, a social enterprise on a mission to reduce the climate impact of travel and tourism. Fifteen percent of every full ticket (£4.50 in total) is shared equally between our three partners.
This is a trial of the event. We'd love your honest feedback at the end of the morning, what worked, what didn't, and what we missed. That feedback will directly shape the official launch of this tour.
