Mining, digging and searching from the mouth of the River Effra, southwards towards its source, is a walk made of the stories and people encountered on the way.

Join an exploratory walk led by artist Gail Dickerson and guests: a journey of adventure crossing bridges of geological time and walking upstream to Brockwell Park where the Effra flows through on its course to Vauxhall.

There is an option to continue on through Herne Hill and Dulwich to Belair Park if energy, weather and time permits – you should bring a picnic if you plan to continue to the Effra’s source. (1.30-3pm).

Gail Dickerson is the current Earth AIR Artist in Residence with Beaconsfield.
