About Nutcracker

Nutcracker at the London Coliseum is English National Ballet’s production of the classic festive ballet. Set on Christmas Eve in Edwardian London, it follows Clara after a visit to Drosselmeyer’s Sweets & Delights Emporium leads her into an enchanted adventure.

The story moves from a glittering Christmas party to a battle with the Rat King, then on to a dazzling ice realm and the Land of Sweets & Delights, where the Sugar Plum Fairy hosts a celebration in Clara’s honour. English National Ballet’s production features over 100 dancers and musicians, with choreography by Artistic Director Aaron S. Watkin and Olivier Award-winner Arielle Smith.

The production uses sets and costumes designed by Dick Bird, and English National Ballet Philharmonic perform Tchaikovsky’s score live. It has been described as “vibrant” by the Financial Times and “astoundingly pretty” by The London Standard.
