About Oh, Mary!

Oh, Mary! at Trafalgar Theatre in London is a dark comedy by Cole Escola, directed by Sam Pinkleton. It follows a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, with unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires at its centre.

The play received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play, for Cole Escola, and Best Direction of a Play, for Sam Pinkleton. The New York Times called it “one of the best comedies in years”.
